For us, writing has never been only about putting words on pages. Books can carry truth into homes, begin conversations around kitchen tables, and meet readers in moments when they need language for what they are facing. That is why we think of writing as ministry, testimony, truth, and legacy.
We care about quality and creativity, but our deepest question is not simply, Will people enjoy this? We also ask, Is it faithful? Will it help a child understand? Will it encourage someone without offering an empty promise? Will it point readers toward Christ and His Word?
A Child Who Learns to Pray
Kevin: The Boy Who Learned to Pray began with a desire to show children that they can talk to God. Prayer can sometimes seem mysterious to a child, especially when it is presented only as something formal or performed in public. A story can make that truth concrete. Children can see a character ask questions, express fear, learn, and begin to understand prayer in the ordinary moments of life.
Kevin and Matthew: Creation Adventure and Kevin and Matthew Hidden Design: Discovering God's Purpose in Creating Boys and Girls continue that work through friendship, discovery, and thoughtful questions. Books do not replace parents, churches, or faithful teaching, but they can support those relationships by giving children another way to encounter and discuss truth.
Testimony That Does Not Waste the Pain
Some books grow from personal testimony. Not Done Yet: When Death Said "Stop," God Said "Not Yet." tells of a season when death felt close and God's preserving mercy became part of our family's story. From Trauma to Triumph: A Journey of Healing, Faith, and Restoration speaks to the long work of healing, faith, and restoration.
Testimony is not valuable because the storyteller is the hero. It is valuable when it tells the truth about human weakness and directs attention to the faithfulness of God. We never want to use pain as entertainment or pretend every difficult story resolves quickly. We want readers to know they are not alone, that suffering does not have to define them, and that hope is found in Christ rather than in a polished image of strength.
Devotionals for the Everyday Walk
Devotional writing creates space to slow down and bring Scripture into the ordinary pressures of life. The upcoming women's devotional Held by Grace is being developed with that purpose in mind. Grace is not a vague feeling that excuses sin or avoids hard truth. It is God's undeserved favor in Christ - grace that saves, sustains, corrects, and teaches us to walk in obedience.
A useful devotional should encourage the reader to open the Bible rather than become a substitute for the Bible. It should help readers see the passage more clearly, reflect honestly, and respond faithfully.
Words That Can Outlive the Moment
Psalm 78 speaks of telling the coming generation about the works of the Lord so that they may set their hope in God. That kind of legacy is larger than a book, but books can participate in it. A parent may read a story to a child. A grandmother may place a devotional in a young woman's hands. Someone walking through grief may return to a testimony and remember that God has not changed.
This is why biblical truth is central to our writing. Trends will pass. Platforms will change. Personal stories matter, but they must not become the foundation. God's Word is the foundation, and every resource should be measured by it.
What We Hope the Books Will Do
We hope the children's books create questions that parents and teachers can explore with young readers. We hope the adult books give language to pain, faith, perseverance, and healing. We hope the devotionals encourage readers to study Scripture, pray honestly, and live with greater faithfulness.
We do not write because we believe a book can fix every problem. We write because words can serve. They can open a door, name a struggle, preserve a testimony, and place truth within reach. We pray that God will use what we create in whatever way He chooses.
That is why we write: not simply to create more books, but to create faithful resources that point to Christ, strengthen families, and leave a legacy of truth.
Questions for Reflection
- What book or story helped shape your faith when you needed it most?
- What testimony of God's faithfulness should be preserved for the next generation in your family?
A Prayer
Lord, guard our words and motives. Help us write with honesty, compassion, and faithfulness to Scripture. Use these books to begin meaningful conversations, encourage hurting readers, and direct families to Christ. Amen.
