You have met the Couvertiers. Now it is time to meet the smallest member of the Couvertier Legacy Inspires family: Ember.
Ember may look cheerful and playful, but the meaning behind the character is intentional. The flame, crown, Bible, and pen each represent part of the mission God has placed on our hearts. Together, they tell a simple story about truth received, truth lived, and truth passed on.
The Flame
An ember is a small piece of a fire that can continue glowing even when the larger flames are no longer visible. With careful attention, that ember can help kindle another fire. The name reminds us that faithful influence does not have to begin with something large or impressive.
A quiet prayer with a child, one Scripture explained patiently, a testimony shared honestly, or one book placed in the right hands can become part of something God uses far beyond the original moment. We cannot create spiritual life in anyone, but we can faithfully speak truth, live out what we believe, and trust God with the fruit.
The Crown
The crown reminds us that Christ is King. Couvertier Legacy Inspires does not exist to build a platform around our personalities. Our work should point beyond us to Jesus - the One with all authority, the One to whom Scripture points, and the One worthy of our worship.
That truth also gives purpose to the other symbols. We read the Bible to know and obey the King. We write and teach to make His truth known. We serve families and children because every generation needs the good news of Christ.
The Open Bible
The Bible in Ember's hands represents the foundation of everything we do. Encouragement without truth can quickly become empty motivation. Creativity without a biblical foundation can drift toward whatever is popular. God's Word keeps the message anchored.
When Ember appears beside a Nugget of the Day, family activity, question, or announcement, the open Bible is a visual reminder to check the message against Scripture. We want children and adults to become familiar with opening the Word for themselves, reading it carefully, and asking what God has actually said.
The Pen
The pen represents writing, teaching, learning, and sharing truth. Words can encourage, instruct, warn, comfort, and help families begin conversations they may not otherwise know how to start. That is why books and articles are important to our mission.
The pen also reminds us to be responsible with our words. Every message should be approached with prayer, care, and humility. We do not want to make Scripture say what we want it to say. We want what we write to be shaped and corrected by Scripture.
A Friendly Guide for the Whole Family
You will see Ember appear with Scripture reminders, Nugget of the Day teachings, family activities, children's content, announcements, challenges, and questions. The character gives younger readers a familiar guide while still carrying meaning adults can appreciate.
Parents and teachers can use Ember as a conversation starter. Ask children what each symbol means. Invite them to choose a verse to learn, write a prayer, or name one truth they want to remember. A mascot cannot replace discipleship, but it can make a moment of learning feel welcoming and memorable.
So when you see the little flame holding the Bible and pen, let it be your reminder: it is time to get into the Word, learn what is true, and pass that truth on.
Put It Into Practice
- Ask children to name what the flame, crown, Bible, and pen represent.
- Let each child write or draw one truth learned from the week's Scripture.
- Choose one short verse to memorize together and review it whenever Ember appears.
Questions for Reflection
- What small act of faithful teaching could help kindle truth in someone else?
- Which of Ember's four symbols speaks most clearly to the season you are in?
A Prayer
Lord Jesus, You are King. Help us receive Your Word with humility, use our words faithfully, and teach the next generation with patience and truth. Use even our smallest acts of obedience for Your glory. Amen.
